Trail des 7 couleurs (100km)

120 km trail race

Trail des 7 couleurs (100km)

A 100 km race to run on your own or as a team of two!

On July 28th 2018, competitors taking part in the fifth edition of the Trail des 7 Couleurs will discover the race’s new layout. The trail will take them from Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa in Le Morne, in southwestern Mauritius, to the Shandrani Beachcomber Resort & Spa on the island’s southeastern coast, a challenging 100 kilometers away.

Those who prefer to compete as part of a team can run this ultra-trail as a relay race. The relay’s first leg extends from Paradis Beachcomber to Alexandra Falls, while the second goes from Alexandra Falls to Shandrani Beachcomber.

The Trail des 7 Couleurs, Mauritius’ only 100-kilometer ultra-trail, begins at sea level on the beach at Le Morne. It gradually climbs to the highest point in Mauritius, the Piton de la Rivière Noire, at 828 meters in altitude, before descending to the Black River Gorges carpark – only to ascend once again to reach the Parakeet antenna at 720 meters above sea level.

Runners will make their way across the central plateau’s southern slopes and cross Alexandra Falls (700 m) and Piton Savanne (704 m) before tackling the final descent down to the Shandrani Beachcomber in Blue Bay.

  • Christophe Le Saux, winner (men) : « A magnificent course! »

"The course of UTRB is magnificent! Thanks to this ultra trail we really discovered Mauritius in 2015 and we now know that there are not only beautiful beaches and turquoise blue lagoons there. The natural landscape is stunning and the terrain is highly varied. The UTRB organisers have set up a very nice event to attract competitors as well as visitors who are fond of green tourism. See you in 2016 maybe!"

  • Uxue Fraile, winner (ladies): « A very beautiful trail»

"I did not know Mauritius and this first visit to the island and the participation to UTRB2015 were a very good experience. The course is stunning and offers many different grounds. In spite of some flat portions, it was also a difficult course because there were so many testing paths in the mountains. The UTRB is a very beautiful race. Hopefully, I will return next year".
