Trail du Sud Sauvage
After a gentle warm-up at Chassé Case Noyale, this course soon gets off to a big start, inviting runners into close contact with nature, and pushing them to call on all their resources over an ascent of no less than 2,200 metres! Skirting the summit of the island at the Piton de la Petite Rivière Noire, the trail then descends into the Gorges. Rolling tracks give way to a tough sequel: the famous Parakeet climb, followed by the Paille-en-Queue trails to Alexandra Falls. A chance to discover the island in all its natural beauty awaits, climbing first to Piton Savanne, then crossing Rochester Falls and a brief sight of the traditional village of Souillac. Finally, runners return to the coast, turning towards Le Refuge before following the southern cliffs to the finish line at the Shandrani Beachcomber.
